How To Get Your Nevada Medical Card Today

01

Answer a series of questions

If you have or suffer from a condition that may benefit from the use of medical marijuana, you will have to acquire a medical marijuana identification card (MMIC) to safely and legally consume cannabis. With Farmacist, you expect to spend anywhere between 30 seconds and a handful of minutes to acquire your MMIC.

A doctor will ask you a series of questions, and you will have to elaborate on the health-related reasons you require medicinal cannabis. After the short process, if your application is approved, your medical card will be delivered and available in your Google or Apple wallet practically immediately.

02

A medical doctor reviews your answers

The answers provided will be reviewed and verified by a licensed doctor to determine that you indeed qualify for a medical card in Nevada. You will have to share specific legal and medical information for the doctor to review as part of the evaluation.

If all of the information gathered is correct, the doctor will authorize you for medicinal cannabis use. When the doctor analyses your medical records, honesty is vital, so be as detailed as possible when presenting your historical medical data. This may include explaining all your ongoing treatments, as well as your past and present conditions.

03

Get your medical card approved

If you have a medical marijuana evaluation online, you’ll need to fill out some paperwork. To get your medical cannabis card granted in Nevada, you must be a Nevada resident. There are no age restrictions in Nevada, but a caregiver must be needed and have all of the required legal and medical papers.

A certified doctor will inquire about your medical history as well as your current activities and conditions. When you will get authorized is entirely dependent on the doctor that evaluates you, but in general, you can expect a same-day approval when applying through Farmacist.

About Medical Marijuana in Nevada

Ballot Question 9 was adopted by 65 percent of Nevada voters on November 7, 2000, and went into effect on October 1, 2001. By certifying patients who obtain a prescription from their doctor declaring that they may recover from the medical use of medical marijuana, Ballot Question 9 essentially removed state-level criminal sanctions on marijuana use, ownership, and growing.

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval signed Senate Bill 374 on June 12, 2013, allowing medical marijuana establishments to register in order to cultivate, distribute, or fabricate edible marijuana products or marijuana-infused products for sale to patients who are legally permitted to obtain, acquire, and use marijuana for medical purposes. However, it also states that individuals who have been growing their own medical marijuana since before July 1, 2013, are only permitted to do so until March 31, 2016.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) implements regulations based on the previous amendment on April 1, 2014.

Nevada voters approved Ballot Question 2, also known as the Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act, on November 8, 2016, legalizing recreational, medical marijuana for adults aged 21 and up.

On July 1, 2017, the new recreational marijuana law went into effect, allowing people to purchase, acquire, and consume medical marijuana in Nevada.

Present laws also have no age restrictions. The said patient, however, must have a caregiver with them.

Possession regulations

Patients or their designated caregivers in Nevada are allowed to possess no more than 2.5 ounces of medicinal marijuana in a 14-day period. They have the ability to cultivate plants under certain circumstances.

Registry

A state-run patient registry was established under Nevada law to give identity cards to qualifying patients. Anyone over the age of 21 can now buy cannabis from a state-licensed dispensary as of July 2017.
