How To Get Your New Jersey Medical Card Today

Answer a series of questions

A medical marijuana identification card is needed to safely and legally consume medical marijuana to treat conditions that may benefit from its usage. Getting an MMIC will take thirty seconds to a few minutes at most. It is the only legal way of using medical marijuana in New Jersey; otherwise, the consumption of cannabis may be perceived as a felony.

To get approved for an MMIC, a doctor will notably ask you several questions about your health and medical history. You will have to explain to the doctor how a medical cannabis card is necessary for your health and its betterment. The complete process should take anywhere between thirty seconds to a couple of minutes. Your medical card will be sent to you immediately by email upon approval. You will have the option to add it to your Google and Apple wallet.

A medical doctor reviews your answers

You will have to be verified by a licensed doctor in New Jersey to be evaluated and get approval for your medical marijuana card. Evaluation is necessary, and it can only happen once your doctor reviews your information and medical data.

You will therefore need to provide legal and medical information that justifies the consumption of cannabis for medicinal purposes. The doctor will look into your medical history, ongoing treatments, and present-day health, then check if you’re eligible for using cannabis in New Jersey. You will be approved if everything checks out and your provided data is accurate.

Get your medical card approved

To get your MMIC approved to freely consume cannabis for your health, you will have to go through an evaluation with a certified doctor. During the evaluation, the doctor will require specific information and will examine your health. You will also have to qualify for one of the medical conditions that are considered treatable through medical marijuana in the state.

After the evaluation, you will receive an answer on whether your approved or not. After approval, you will receive your medical card instantly, since the whole process from application to delivery occurs in our online app.

About Medical Marijuana in New Jersey

Senate Bill 119 was passed 48-14 in the House and 25-13 in the Senate on January 11, 2010, and was signed into law by New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine on January 18, 2010. (Six months from enactment).

Senate Bill 119 safeguards patients who use marijuana to treat serious medical diseases, as well as their doctors, main caregivers, and those who are permitted to grow marijuana for medical purposes, against arrest, prosecution, property confiscation, and other criminal and civil penalties.

SB 119 also calls for the establishment of alternative treatment centers, with at least two in each of the state’s northern, central, and southern areas. The first two centers to receive a permit in each region must be nonprofit organizations, and succeeding centers may be either nonprofit or for-profit.

Governor Chris Christie signed the bill into law on September 10, 2013. Following the legislative approval of his conditional veto, Senate Bill 2842 changed the law. SB 2842 authorizes qualified minors to use edible forms of marijuana with the clearance of a pediatrician and a psychiatrist.

The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services published draft rules defining the application and registration process on October 6, 2010.

Alterations in the law

  • The program expanded to include alternative treatment centers by the state. It also removed restrictions on doctors, making it simpler for them to recommend medical marijuana to patients in a more discreet manner.
  • Patients can also join the program for just $100, compared to $200 every two years previously. Patients in New Jersey should find it easier to acquire the relief they need and deserve from these developments.
  • Opioid use disorders were added to the list of medical marijuana qualifying conditions.
